Piranhas Weekly News - July 12

Hey hey Piranhas!

Another week in the summer swim books! We kicked it off with an outstanding showing at the Divisional Relay Carnival, bringing home a 2nd place finish, setting three new team relay records (boys mixed age 200 free, 15-18 women 200 free, 15-18 women 200 medley), and qualifying three relay teams for All-Star Relays. Congratulations to all of our relay swimmers!

Saturday's A Meet against Poplar Heights was another exciting battle where came up just TWO points short – quite the nail biter! We'll be ready for the next one.

This week is packed with meets, social events, and important deadlines, so grab your calendar and read closely.

Monday: Home B Meet with Lincolnia Park. We're excited to show Lincolnia Park what Parklawn spirit and sportsmanship is all about.

  • Theme: Tie-Dye
  • 12 & Under arrival: 4:45 p.m.
  • 13 & Over arrival: 4:50 p.m.
  • Meet begins: 6:00 p.m.

Amanda and Ali sent everything you need to know earlier today. See their email for more details.

Wednesday: All-Star Relay Carnival. Good luck to our three Piranha relay teams competing at All-Star Relays!

  • Women 13-14 200 Medley (Charlotte, Alina, Jessie, Lili) - seeded 10th
  • Women 13-14 200 Free (Alina, Charlotte, Lili, Kenzie) - seeded 14th
  • Women 15-18 200 Free Relay (Emerson, CC, Lucy, Amelia) - seeded 4th

Let's cheer them on as they represent Parklawn. The team will share updates on Team Snap.

Friday Night Social: Karaoke! A Piranha favorite! For those who haven’t attended before, karaoke around here is less about singing and more about ….entertaining. Think choreographed performances, creative costumes, and a lot of laughing.

A few reminders:

  • Songs must be edited to under two minutes. Please turn them in to Lara MacDonald by Friday morning.
  • Please, no candy tossing during performances.
  • Parents are needed to help organize the younger age groups. If you're organizing an age group, Karen can provide a roster so you can create a group chat for planning.
  • Older swimmers, and especially our seniors, this is your chance to show everyone how it’s done!

Saturday: Final A Meet vs. Rolling Hills. Our final dual meet of the season is here! We'll host Rolling Hills at Parklawn as we celebrate our Senior Day and recognize the Class of 2026 for everything they've contributed to the Piranhas.

Theme: White Out

Let's pack the pool in white and cheer our team on. Details will be sent Thursday.
