Junior Piranhas
Our Junior Piranhas program was launched in the summer of 2021. Note: this is NOT a “learn to swim” program or an alternative to swim lessons, but rather bridges the gap from novice swimmer to the developmental/competitive team. The goal of the Junior Piranhas program is to move swimmers to the full team as soon as possible; this would be when the swimmer has the endurance and technique to swim laps legally.
The practice schedule for our Junior Piranhas is different from the competitive swim team. Junior Piranhas will practice for 30 minutes (Monday through Friday) starting at 7:30 PM while school is in session. Once school is out, we do not offer evening practice and the Junior Piranhas will practice with their age group.
Our Junior Piranhas are part of team, we want them to participate in pep rallies, team photo, and all of the usual team activities. They receive a team t-shirt and acknowledgement at the end of the season.
Our Junior Piranhas may swim in our Monday Night B-Meets upon coaches’ approval. We want our swimmers to be successful and their first meet experience to be a positive one.
We as team reps do not see any reason to talk to your swimmer about a junior developmental team, and we would caution you against it. They are a Parklawn Piranha.
