Swim & Dive Practice Equipment

Write your child's name on swimsuits and team shirts immediately.  You will be shocked to learn that these items get lost in public settings all the time and a sharpie marker is the only way to identify items.

1. Goggles - we recommend keeping two pairs of the goggles your child loves.  It is not uncommon for goggles to break at the most inopportune moments, so having a spare ready to go will save a parent from a lot of grief.  You can also keep swim bungee cords to quickly repair goggles in a pinch. Swim bungees (not needed for dive practice).  For younger swimmers we recommend Skoogles Skoogle link and for older swimmers we like the speedo jr. vanquisher jr. vanquisher

2. Swim Suit - a team suit should be worn for all meets. A practice suit can be worn during practices to keep the team suit from stretching out.  We understand that little ones will want to wear it to every practice and that is okay. Suits should be a competition style suit and fit snugly.  Please reach out if you need examples.

3. Team Cap - all swimmers should wear a cap during practice and they must wear a cap during meets. If your child has long hair that touches their goggles when wet, please have a hair tie to help hold hair in place and wear a cap even for practice. (not needed for dive practice)

4. Water Bottle - please have your child bring a water bottle to every meet and practice.

5. Floating Long Fins we recommend Sporti or Finis fins.  Links to options: Sporti at Swim OutletFinis finsAmazon

6. Two Towels - If you don't have a piranha team towel, quick dry towels are great.  They take up less space and dry your kid quickly. Quick Dry Towel

7. Sunscreen - kids should have applied sunscreen prior to meets and practice.  Additionally they should reapply sunscreen throughout meets. Coaches will try and remind them and to tell them to remain in the shade.

8. Bug Spray

9. Mesh Bag - your child will need to be responsible for carrying in their gear.  We recommend a mesh bag that they can hold the equipment that they need, as well as, snacks, cards, books, etc. Mesh Bag
