Piranhas Weekly News - June 28
Hi Piranhas,
What a week! Here are some highlights.
- Our B Meet may have been stormed out, but our swimmers and volunteers rolled with it like pros.
- Friday's Nerf Wars and dodgeball were a huge hit. Thanks for everyone's flexibility making the most of the weather.
- Saturday brought a big road win over Ravensworth that came down to the relays! We saw more team records fall, our pirate spirit was on full display (check out the highlights on Instagram), and we enjoyed a celebration lunch afterwards.
- We saw three sweeps at the Saturday meet. 11-12 Girls (Addie Celentano, Kaiya Vickrey-Lau, Vivan Snow) swept backstroke. Our 11-12 boys (Ezra Mancari, Lucas Gleeson, Archie Weidemann) swept breaststroke.13-14 girls (Jessie Snow, Lili Cervoni, Betsy Rothschild) swept the butterfly. Way to go teams!
- On Sunday, the Piranhas captured a four-peat victory at IM Carnival, taking home the team trophy for the 4th year in a row! Congratulations to our 1st place winners Rebecca Hungerford (11-12 girls), Eddie Boynton (13-14 boys), and Noah Popp (15-18 men).
- Check out these photos from Jason Nye capturing the spirit of our team.

Saturday: Fourth of July at Parklawn. The pool will host its annual Fourth of July celebrations. We hope to see you there!
Practice Schedule Changes. Practice will be held Monday through Thursday only this week. There is no practice Friday due to the A Meet.
Coaches' Notes. The forecast calls for hotter-than-normal temperatures this week. Help swimmers come prepared by:
- Bringing a full water bottle every day.
- Staying hydrated before and after practice too.
A New Piranha Tradition. If you've noticed a large painted rock around the pool, here's the story behind it.
This year, our senior class launched a new tradition by creating the Piranha Bragging Stone. It’s a lasting gift from the Class of 2026 to future Piranhas.
Each season, the senior class will "own" the stone, painting it to celebrate team accomplishments and milestones throughout the summer. Each year, the stone will be passed to the next senior class, giving them the opportunity to continue the tradition and leave their own mark on Parklawn.
We love seeing traditions grow, and we hope this becomes one our swimmers look forward to for years to come.
See you on deck!
