Hello Piranha Families - 

A big thank you to everyone who joined us for the adult mixer on Friday. It was wonderful to see so many parents to kick off another summer together.

Our swimmers and divers also launched the season in team-building style with Cake Decorating Wars! This year's event added an athletic twist, with teams earning decorating supplies through challenges before putting their creativity to work. We also learned our team cheers and started building the energy that makes summer swim so much fun.

Here's what's ahead for the week.

Meet Availability

A Meet and NVSL Meet sign-ups are now open on the calendar. Please take a few minutes to mark whether your swimmer is available to compete. If your swimmer will be away for sleepaway camp, vacation, or another commitment, please indicate that now so coaches can plan accordingly.

A Meet availability is due by 3:00 p.m. on the Saturday before the next meet. However, knowing availability in advance is incredibly helpful as coaches build lineups and seed events.

Our first B Meet with Broyhill Crest on June 15 is also open. Please:

• Select your swimmer's events (choose 2)
• Sign up for a volunteer position

As a reminder, B Meet registration typically opens during the week prior to the meet and closes Saturday afternoon at 3:00 p.m. An email went out earlier this week from Alexandra (Ali) Goldwater and Amanda Hungerford with details on the meet.

Practice Notes from the Coaches. Please make sure swimmers bring both their fins and water bottles to practice each day. Both items can be placed at the end of their practice lane.

Tuesday: Piranha-thon. Thank you to everyone who has already pledged support. This event is one of our favorite traditions and a great way to build confidence while supporting the programs and activities that make our team special.

Wednesday: “Wacky Wednesday” Practice. Each Wednesday we’ll have a fun practice theme. This week's theme is School Spirit! Let's celebrate the end of the school year by wearing your school shirt, jersey, or school colors to practice.

Friday: Team Photos and Grill Night. There will be no practice Friday night. Instead, we will have team picture day. See the attached flyer for photo purchase details.

• wear your team suit AND your team shirt
• arrive on deck at 4:30 for individual and sibling photos (these are optional)
• arrive on deck at 5:30 for the team photo

After pictures, stick around for dinner. Our Piranha Grill Team is the BEST in the NVSL!! They'll have burgers, hot dogs, and veggie burgers for purchase.

Saturday: Time Trials. This is such a fun meet because the entire team is together for the first meet of the season! Get ready for music, cheers, the starting whistle, breakfast sandwiches, sno-cones, and exciting swimming. A detailed email with meet information will be sent later this week.

Parents of 13 & Overs. If possible, please help your teen create and use their own TeamSnap account. We often send important information directly to swimmers through the app, including arrival times, volunteer needs, and meet updates.
