Winter Swim Conditioning Progam and Swim News
I wanted to wish the Piranha family a Happy New Year and pass along some 2025 updates.
The Parklawn Piranha Boosters was incredibly generous to the team this year! This year they spent $19K on the team. Over 7K was for spirit gear, which includes team shirts, championships shirts, coach’s shirts, All-Star Gear, Swim cap subsidy, dive shammies, and much more. They paid for new poles and anchors for the backstroke flags, (which were surprisingly expensive), a gorgeous custom trophy case, an underwater speaker, a digital pace clock, and much, much more.
Thank you for supporting the Boosters through Piranha-thon participation, and your personal and corporate donations. It takes our Piranha village to make all of this happen.
The Parklawn Winter Swim Conditioning Program will be returning again this Spring! Thank you for all the positive feedback from last year's program. The coaches noted that our swimmers showed up after Memorial Day already in great swim shape.
The conditioning program will be offered at the new Minnie Howard Swim Complex on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 7-8 pm (new time). The program will run 12 weeks from March 4th through May 22nd. You can attend one or both practices each week, cost $250 per swimmer.
I will send out the Registration link soon for our program. I will include information on other swim programs available in the area for summer team prep, if Parklawn's days and times do not work for your family. Most of the other programs will run much higher than our own.
The NVSL Seeding Meeting date has not been announced yet. It is usually held sometime in February or March. At the seeding meeting we will learn our division for the upcoming season, who we will be swimming, and our home and away meet schedule. We will let you know, the moment we know!
Enjoy the rest of your winter holiday,
Karen and Jason
