Piranhas Weekly News - Special Swim & Dive Edition

Dear Piranhas Families -

Before you put away your swim caps and clear out your swim bags (seriously….check those swim bags…lots of questionable items you don’t want to wait and discover next spring), we wanted to send one last note to share results and congratulate our Piranhas Swim AND Dive teams for a fantastic showing at NVSL All-Stars this weekend.

Swim All-Stars

This year we sent one of our largest PLP All-Star Teams ever, with eight swimmers in 10 events. The results of the competition are below.

A special shout out to Coach Carmen and Coach John who led practices throughout the week and stuck it out for a scorcher of a day on Saturday, and to Coach Kevin who put in extra time to help the team warm up.

  • Addie Celentano - 18th place in 25 Fly
  • Alina Kinder - 8th place in 50 Breast (*lowered her team record to 38.06!)
  • Amelia Young - 14th place in 50 Free
  • CC Corbett - 19th place in 50 Fly
  • Cami Sonn - 20th place in 50 Breast
  • Charlotte Hill - 12th place in 50 Back
  • Ezra Mancari - 8th place in 25 Fly (*NEW team record of 16.69!), 10th place in 50 Free
  • Emerson Mancari - 6th place in 50 Fly (*lowered her team record to 32.35), and 9th place in 100 IM

Dive All-Stars

This year, the Parklawn Piranhas Dive Team had four divers make All-Stars -- Miller Supple, Cormac Henderson, Charlotte Hill, and Tess Galway. Charlotte and Cormac competed today and the results are below:

  • Charlotte Hill - 4th place, Junior Girl
  • Cormac Henderson - 9th place, Freshman Boy

A special congratulations to Charlotte who competed at NVSL Swim All-Stars and turned around to compete at NVSL Dive All-Stars the next day - one of only two people in the NVSL this season to compete in both.

Piranhas Winter Swim Registration

For those interested in practicing with the Piranhas for our winter swim program, be on the lookout for registration info coming via email this week. The Piranhas winter swim program is a great way to keep up your swim skills and technique in the off season.

Farewell to Our 2023 Season!

As we bid farewell to our 2023 season, we are already looking forward to next year! Will Louis Molife still have the Camelot Knights trumpet? Will Jonny Boynton and Johnnie B. Goode still be linked in our minds? What weird flavor of La Croix will still be left in the refrigerator? Will Noah Crozier write a computer program to draft all of these email newsletters? (hint hint.....just kidding!) Only 321 days until Time Trials….

Until then -
