The Piranha-thon is new and it’s definitely exciting… but what is it?

Parents, your help is needed!

The Piranha-thon is a friendly intrasquad competition and fundraiser that kicks off for the first time this summer. The goal of Piranha-thon is to get kids excited about swimming and let them show off how far they can swim before tiring out – all while helping provide critical funds to make the Piranha’s summer a success!

How does Piranha-thon work? It’s simple: during your swimmer’s regular practice session on Tuesday, June 13, every Piranha will swim as many laps as they can before time runs out.

Starting today, swimmers can ask families, neighbors, and friends to support them by giving a flat amount or by pledging an amount for each lap they complete. The more we swim, the more we raise to help the team!

Parents, we need your help to make the Piranha-thon a success. Help your swimmer(s) collect pledges using this form to support them as they show off their swimming prowess!

Piranhas of every age and skill level will astonish themselves with how far they can swim, and parents and other swimmers are encouraged to cheer on their teammates while they compete.

Our goal is to have every Piranha participate as a swimmer and as a fundraiser. There will be special treats at practice that day, plus lots of prizes for each age group and gender, including awards for most laps, most pledges, and most dollars raised. And Piranha-thon standouts will be recognized by our team announcer all throughout the season.

Remember, we need every Piranha’s help to make this a great team-building and fundraising success!

Go Piranhas!

Andrea Cordero, Piranha-thon Chair

PS: Money raised from the Piranha-thon will be used to pay for the team banquet, team social events, pep rallies, swim equipment, and more. The more we raise, the more fun things we can do as a team, so thank you for your help making this a hit!
