The Swim Team is hosting a Mini-Meet this Sunday morning July 17 prior to the pool’s opening. The Mini-Meet will be held first, then a lollipop race, followed by a parent relay organized by Katie McGrorey.

The meet is only open to: (a) 10 and under swim team participants, including Junior Piranhas, and (b) enrolled lesson kids who were recommended by their Mini-Piranhas coaches. It will be run like an intersquad meet. The lollipop race will be open to younger siblings and the general membership. This event is designed to be fun, encourage a love of swimming, and develop confidence in your swimmers. Our 11 and Up swimmers will be officiating the meet, with the help of our parent volunteers.

Arrival Time: Swimmers should arrive by 8:15 AM. Warm-ups will be at 8:30 AM. The Meet will start at 9 AM.

Events: We will have 8U and 9/10 events. All individual events (free, back, fly and breast) are 25M. 9/10 swimmers will be swimming 25M only. Swimmers with legal times may sign up for breast and fly; otherwise you need Head Coach approval. Two events per swimmer, plus freestyle relay! There will be lollipop races too that will occur at the end.

Deadline: Sign up by Thursday: Select Your Events. We plan to prepare a meet sheet for the individual events and relays. We will announce an estimated time for lollipop racers to arrive once we have finalized the meet sheet.

Theme: Star Wars.

Our 11/12, 13/14 and 15-18 Swimmers: Our 11 and up swimmers will be officials (with support from parent volunteers)!  These kids are running the entire meet with help from their parents. Sign-up to Volunteer, just like a regular meet. Each volunteer will receive snack bar coupons. If we have 40+ swimmers from are 11-18 volunteer, there will be free donuts at the meet for volunteers. Please consider volunteering; it will be super fun!
