Time Trials - Swimmers Must Arrive by 7:30 AM
Let’s bring on the meets…Time Trials are tomorrow, Saturday, June 11. Swimmers are expected to arrive by 7:30 AM, and swimmers must check in with Coach Finn and Coach Louis upon arrival. Warm-ups start at 7:40 AM; events start at 8:00 AM. Swimmers should be ready to warm up (caps and goggles on) at 7:30 AM.
If your swimmer misses their event because they are late to time trials or at the snack bar getting a snow cone (yes, that happens), we are not adding them to another heat. Coaches are not responsible for looking around the pool deck and checking the snack bar to find your swimmer. Please encourage your swimmer to stay in the team area.
Attached are the Meet Sheet and Entries by Swimmer Sheet. We will combine heats if we have less than 6 swimmers in Heat 1. For example, we will combine Freestyle, Heat 1, Boys 9/10 and Girls 9/10. This will help us speed up the pace of the meet.
One parent from each family is expected to volunteer. As in regular meets, one parent should volunteer to work as a timer, runner, etc. during Time Trials. To sign up for a job, log on to Swimtopia, click on the calendar tab, and next to Time Trials you will see a green button that says "Job Signup". Click on that button and then the blue “Sign Up for Jobs” Button, and let us know what you can do. Here is a handy link too: https://parklawnswimteam.swimtopia.com/swim_meets/376553/shift_assignment.
A few quick reminders about volunteer positions:
● Marshal volunteers must arrive when swimmers are expected to arrive. We can’t start warm-ups without our marshals on deck. Marshals are responsible for safety & ensuring that swimmers & parents are quiet for the start of each event.
● Timers, Stroke & Turn Judges, and Clerk of Course volunteers should arrive 30 minutes before the meet starts. Timers have a meeting with the Chief Timer and Stroke & Turn Judges will have a meeting with the Referee before the national anthem.
